Large Withdrawal Protection — Take Control of Your Withdrawal Limits

Published on Jul 13, 20265 min read

OKX is pleased to announce the launch of Large Withdrawal Protection, a new feature that gives you configurable control over the withdrawal rules on your account. Available now on Web and App (version 6.176.0 and above). With Large Withdrawal Protection, you can set a personal 24-hour cumulative withdrawal limit. Once your outflows across all covered channels reach or exceed that threshold, the withdrawal is blocked immediately — and can only proceed after facial verification (Eagle Eye). This means:

  • You define your own safety threshold — set it anywhere from 10,000 to 10,000,000 USD equivalent

  • Instant protection — when your threshold is reached, that withdrawal requires immediate facial verification before it can proceed

  • Cross-channel coverage — on-chain withdrawals, P2P selling, Pay balance top-up and API withdrawals all count toward your 24-hour cumulative limit

  • No disruption to normal withdrawals — only triggers when your cumulative limit is reached

What is Large Withdrawal Protection?

Large Withdrawal Protection is a user-configurable security layer on top of OKX's existing risk control system. It lets KYC-verified main account users set a personal 24-hour cumulative withdrawal threshold. Once that threshold is reached or exceeded during a withdrawal, Eagle Eye facial verification is required immediately before the transaction proceeds. This is not a platform-wide restriction — it is a protection you configure for yourself, and it only activates when you need it.

Who Can Use It?

Large Withdrawal Protection is available to KYC-verified main account users on Web and App (version 6.176.0 or above). Sub-accounts and unverified users are not eligible.

Which Channels Are Covered?

The 24-hour cumulative limit applies across:

  • On-chain withdrawals

  • P2P selling (C2C)

  • API withdrawals (including sub-account withdrawals)

  • Pay balance top-up

Note on API withdrawals: If an API withdrawal causes your cumulative outflow to reach or exceed your threshold, that transaction is blocked automatically. Facial verification cannot be used to resume it via API — you'll need to withdraw via Web or App, or increase your threshold first.

Important Notes

  • Enabling Large Withdrawal Protection requires no verification.

  • Increasing your threshold requires Eagle Eye facial verification.

  • Disabling Large Withdrawal Protection requires Eagle Eye facial verification.

  • Sub-account withdrawals count toward the main account's 24-hour cumulative total.

  • Users on OKX app versions older than 6.176.0 should update for full protection.

  • You will receive push and email notifications whenever the feature is enabled, disabled, or your threshold is changed. If you receive a notification you didn't trigger, reset your password or freeze your account immediately.
