Offline Mode, Adding an Extra Layer of Security for Your Sleeping Hours

OKX has officially launched Offline Mode, a new feature that lets you define your own protected withdrawal window. This feature is now fully available on Web and App (version 6.180 and above).Once Offline Mode is enabled, you can set a custom protection window (hour-level precision, up to 12 hours, e.g. 22:00–08:00). Any withdrawal initiated during this window will be blocked immediately, regardless of amount. This means:

  • You control the protection window — customizable to the hour, up to 12 hours (e.g. 22:00–08:00)

  • Blanket blocking during the window — withdrawals initiated during the protection window are blocked outright, regardless of amount, with no need for facial verification to make that determination

  • Full cross-channel coverage — crypto withdrawals, C2C selling (P2P), API withdrawals, and Pay top-ups are all subject to the protection window

  • No impact outside the window — the restriction only applies during your chosen window; withdrawals at other times are unaffected

What is Offline Mode?

Offline Mode is a security feature you configure yourself, adding a time-based layer of defense on top of the existing Withdrawal Protection capabilities. Users who have completed KYC verification can set a daily protection window (hour-level precision, up to 12 hours). During this window, the system blocks any withdrawal outright, regardless of amount — even if that withdrawal also exceeds the Amount Protection threshold, it is handled under Offline Mode rules alone, without triggering facial verification. You set up and control this feature yourself. Together with the existing Amount Protection, it forms a two-layer defense system that helps protect you against small, repeated withdrawal attacks carried out on a compromised account during late-night or sleeping hours.

Who can use it?

Offline Mode is available to users who have completed KYC verification, on both Web and App (version 6.180 and above).

Which withdrawal channels are covered?

The following channels are subject to the protection window:

  • Crypto withdrawals

  • C2C selling (P2P)

  • API withdrawals

  • Pay top-ups

3. Tap Confirm — enabling requires no verification. Please note: once enabled, Offline Mode cannot be modified or turned off during the protection window itself, so please set it up and enable it carefully.

Important Notes

  • Enabling Offline Mode: takes effect immediately, no verification required.

  • Modifying the window or disabling Offline Mode during the protection window: blocked; you must wait until the window ends.

  • Modifying the window or disabling Offline Mode outside the protection window: requires Eagle Eye facial verification before saving/disabling.

  • The protection window can be set for up to 12 hours; exceeding this limit will return an error and prevent saving.

  • Timezone defaults to your phone's current timezone; if you switch your phone's timezone after setup, the system uses the timezone in effect at the time Offline Mode was configured to determine whether you're within the protection window.

  • If a single withdrawal triggers both Offline Mode and Amount Protection at the same time, it will be blocked directly under Offline Mode rules, without triggering facial verification.
