USDT can be deposited, but can only be converted to USDC.This is because USDT is not a permissible stablecoin in the EU, as its issuer has not obtained the authorisation required under MiCA. As a result, USDT trading is no longer available on OKX Europe. If you hold USDT, you can convert it to USDC, a MiCA-compliant stablecoin, on a one-way basis while this service remains available.

What is USDT One Way Convert?

USDT One Way Convert lets eligible users deposit USDT into OKX and convert it, one time, into USDC. Conversion only runs in one direction: USDT into USDC.

Who can use USDT One Way Convert?

Users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), with access to OKX through the web platform or the app.

Does this new feature reopen USDT trading on OKX in Europe?

No. USDT One Way Convert does not reopen USDT trading, and it does not let users hold USDT as an investment on OKX in Europe. Deposits accepted through this feature are for conversion purposes only.

Can I deposit USDT into my OKX account in Europe?

It's not a plain transfer. USDT gets auto-converted to USDC on the way in via One Way Convert. You never actually hold USDT in the EU account.

Can I hold USDT in my OKX Europe account after depositing?

No. USDT deposited through USDT One Way Convert is converted into USDC and is not credited as a holdable or tradable USDT balance.

Can I trade USDT on OKX in Europe?

No. USDT is not available to trade on OKX for users residing in the European Economic Area. Deposits are accepted solely so they can be converted to USDC.

Converting USDT to USDC

How do I convert my USDT to USDC?

Deposit USDT into your OKX Europe account, then use the conversion action inside USDT One Way Convert to convert the deposited USDT into USDC.

Can I convert USDC back into USDT?

No. USDT One Way Convert only supports converting USDT into USDC. There is no reverse conversion from USDC back into USDT on OKX Europe.

What happens if I change my mind after converting?

The conversion cannot be reversed. Confirm the amount before completing the conversion.

Using Converted USDC

What can I do with USDC after converting?

USDC is the settlement asset used across OKX's order books, so USDC received through conversion can be used directly on EUR trading pairs and USDC trading pairs on OKX. It can also be used as a margin for X-Perps and Futures Bots, for Earn APY and to spend it via the OKX Card.

Do I need to deposit USDC separately to trade with it?

No. USDC received through USDT One Way Convert is usable on OKX without an additional deposit step.

Eligibility and Access

I hold USDT on another exchange. Can I still use this feature?

Yes. Deposit that USDT into your OKX Europe account first, then convert it into USDC using USDT One Way Convert.

I'm not located in the European Economic Area (EEA). Can I use USDT One Way Convert?

No. USDT One Way Convert is currently only available to users in the EEA on OKX's web platform and app.
