How Do I Fix a Corrupted OKX Wallet Browser Extension?

Data di pubblicazione: 26 giu 2026Data di aggiornamento: 26 giu 20265 minuti di lettura1

If your OKX Wallet browser extension is suddenly disabled by Chrome or Edge and you see the following message:

"This extension may have been corrupted."

Don't worry. This is usually caused by an issue during the browser's extension update process and does not indicate any problem with your wallet or assets.

Why does this happen?

Once in a while, Chrome or Edge may incorrectly mark an extension as "corrupted" during an automatic extension update due to the browser's update mechanism. This is a known browser extension update issue and is not related to the security of your wallet or assets.

Solutions

Occasionally, simply updating and restarting your browser will automatically restore the extension while preserving your wallet data.

⚠️ Do not click the "Repair" button immediately. Clicking Repair may reinstall the extension, which can remove your locally stored wallet data.

Method 2 (If Automatic Recovery Fails): Back Up Your Data, Reinstall the Extension, and Restore the Backup

If restarting your browser does not resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Back up your wallet's local extension data (see the instructions below).

  2. Uninstall and reinstall the OKX Wallet extension, then import your recovery phrase or private key to restore your wallet.

  3. Restore the backed-up local data.
