OKX Wallet launches Gas Station: Pay gas fees with stablecoins
Ever held USDT or USDC in your wallet but couldn't transact because you'd run out of native tokens for gas? OKX Wallet now offers Gas Station, letting you pay gas fees with stablecoins — so you're no longer held back by your native token balance.
What is Gas Station?
Gas Station is a new feature in OKX Wallet that lets you pay gas fees with selected stablecoins instead of native tokens.
Supported gas tokens: USDC, USDT, USDG
Supported network: Solana
How it works
When you use Gas Station, a third-party relayer covers the native gas upfront. You repay in your chosen stablecoin within the same transaction — settled automatically.
How to use Gas Station on OKX Wallet
App and Extension Wallet
Make sure OKX Wallet is updated to the latest version to use Gas Station:
When your native token is insufficient to pay gas, the system automatically selects the stablecoin with the highest balance (USDC, USDT, or USDG). You can also switch to another stablecoin manually.
When your native token is sufficient, you can still switch to pay gas with a stablecoin in the "Network fee" section on the transaction confirmation page.
Agentic Wallet
No setup needed in advance — the agent guides you whenever it's relevant:
When your native token balance runs low, the agent lets you know and prompts you to enable Gas Station.
Once you confirm, you can set a default token for paying gas — for example, "Use USDT as my default gas token."
After that, whenever your native token balance is low, the agent automatically pays gas with your default token — no extra confirmation needed.
If your default token's balance is too low, the agent will prompt you to choose another token and ask whether to update your default.
Note: Gas Station is available on the OKX Wallet app and browser extension. It is not available when transferring native tokens such as ETH or OKB.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't I see the Gas Station option?
Make sure your extension, app, or OnchainOS is updated to the latest version, and that your current network and token are supported. Gas Station also isn't available when you're transferring native tokens.
Are there any extra fees to enable Gas Station?
No. There's no upgrade step — you can start from your very first transaction at no extra cost.
