OKX to Discontinue Weekly Expiry Dates for Coin-Margined Expiry Futures

To optimize the product and tenor structure of coin-margined expiry futures, OKX will gradually discontinue the current-week and next-week (Weekly) expiry dates for coin-margined expiry futures.
OKX will make the following changes on the web, app and API at 08:00 on August 28, 2026 (Friday) (UTC+8):

  1. Stop generating and displaying the next-week coin-margined expiry futures originally scheduled to expire on September 11, 2026;
  2. Allow the existing coin-margined expiry futures expiring on September 4, 2026 to remain available for normal trading until their scheduled expiry, without early delisting;
  3. After the September 4 contracts expire as scheduled, naturally phase out the current-week and next-week expiry dates for coin-margined expiry futures. These contracts will no longer be generated or displayed.
    This adjustment applies to all listed coin-margined expiry futures underlyings, currently including BTCUSD and ETHUSD.

    Final Weekly contracts remaining available until their scheduled expiry on September 4, 2026

  • ETHUSD-04SEP26 (ETH-USD-260904)
    Next-week contracts that will not be generated or displayed
  • BTCUSD-11SEP26 (BTC-USD-260911)
  • ETHUSD-11SEP26 (ETH-USD-260911)
    Coin-Margined Expiry Futures Tenors After the Adjustment
    Following this adjustment, coin-margined expiry futures will continue to support the following six expiry dates:
  • Current-month
  • Next-month
  • Current-quarter
  • Next-quarter
  • Tri-quarterly
  • Quad-quarterly
    Coin-margined monthly and quarterly expiry futures will continue to be generated, displayed, traded and settled under the existing rules and will not be affected by this adjustment.

Information for API Users
If you use APIs or automated strategies to select coin-margined expiry futures by contract alias, please update your integrations accordingly:

  • After the August 28 expiry rollover, coin-margined NEXT_WEEK contracts will no longer be available;
  • After the September 4 expiry, neither coin-margined THIS_WEEK nor NEXT_WEEK contracts will be available;
  • Product endpoints and related channels will return contracts based on the instruments actually available online. Monthly or quarterly contracts will not be reassigned as Weekly contracts.
    This adjustment only discontinues the online generation and display of Weekly expiry dates for coin-margined expiry futures. It does not involve early expiry, forced position closures or changes to the trading and settlement rules of existing contracts. Users may continue to trade and hold the contracts expiring on September 4, 2026 until their scheduled expiry.
