This FAQ covers VIP Referral, OKX's referral program for VIP users.
What's VIP Referral?
VIP Referral is a referral program for verified OKX VIPs (VIP 1 and above) only. Invite friends to become OKX VIPs, and once they qualify, you unlock referral levels with exclusive rewards — from VIP trial cards to McLaren Racing Experience, OKX Global Office Tour, and more.

How's VIP Referral different from OKX's standard referral program?
VIP Referral and OKX's standard referral program are independent of each other. Each program has its own referral code and referral link, and referral bindings don't carry over between the two. For example, a friend invited through VIP Referral won't be counted under the standard referral program.
If you're a VIP user, you'll be directed to the VIP Referral page by default. If you're not a VIP user, you'll be directed to the standard referral page. You can switch between the two programs at any time using the toggle on either page.
Which regions is VIP Referral available in?
VIP Referral is available in selected regions and may not be available in your jurisdiction. If you can access the VIP Referral feature in the app or on the web, you're eligible to participate. Otherwise, the feature isn't currently supported in your account or region.
Can I invite friends through VIP Referral if I'm a VIP trial user?
No. Only verified VIP users (VIP1 and above) can invite friends through VIP Referral. If you're only a Trial VIP, you aren't eligible to participate as a referrer.
However, if you're already a verified VIP and are temporarily upgraded through a VIP Trial (for example, a VIP4 user upgraded to Trial VIP6), you remain eligible to invite friends because your underlying status is still a verified VIP.
Who can invite friends through VIP Referral?
You need to be a verified OKX VIP to invite friends through VIP Referral.
Note: users who have reached a VIP tier through a VIP trial are also eligible. For example, a VIP4 user upgraded to Trial VIP6 can participate in the program.
Who can I invite through VIP Referral?
You can invite:
New OKX users who've never signed up with OKX before.
Existing OKX users who:
Aren't currently an OKX VIP or Trial VIP; and
Have never held VIP or Trial VIP status, or whose most recent VIP or Trial VIP status ended at least 180 days ago.
Can I invite someone who's already joined OKX's standard referral program?
Yes, provided they've been bound to the standard referral program for more than 180 days. Once this requirement is met, they can bind to VIP Referral instead.
VIP Referral and the standard referral program are separate. A referral binding under one program won't be counted under the other.
Can I invite myself using my own referral link?
No. You can't use your own referral link to invite yourself. If we detect self-referral, the referral binding won't be completed, and you'll be prompted to share your referral link with someone else.
What counts as a qualified invitee in VIP Referral?
An invitee is considered qualified once they've maintained verified VIP status for a total of 50 days within a quarter. The 50 days don't need to be consecutive.
Note: time spent as a Trial VIP through a VIP Trial Card doesn't count toward the 50-day requirement. Only time spent with verified VIP status is eligible.
What levels can I unlock in VIP Referral, and what rewards come with each?
Your VIP Referral level is determined by the number of qualified invitees you have in the current quarter. As you unlock higher levels, you'll also keep the rewards from all previously unlocked levels.

When do I receive my VIP Referral rewards, and how long do I have to claim them?
Rewards are issued as soon as you unlock a new VIP Referral level. Once unlocked, you won't lose rewards from lower levels.
VIP Trial Cards are added to your account automatically. You don't need to claim them, but you'll need to send them to a friend within 90 days, or they'll expire.
All other rewards (including the OKX Limited Edition Merch, McLaren Racing Experience, OKX Global Office Tour, Meet the Executives, and VIP Awards) must be claimed within 90 days of unlocking them, or they'll expire.
If you unlock a higher level within the same quarter, the 90-day claim period for your previously unlocked rewards will reset and begin again from the date you unlock the new level.
What happens to my level and rewards at the start of a new quarter?
Your referral level resets on the first day of each new quarter, and your qualified invitee count starts fresh. However, your referral bindings remain active. If your referred friends maintain verified VIP status long enough during the new quarter, they can qualify again and count toward your invitee total.
Can I invite friends using a VIP trial card in VIP Referral?
Yes. When you invite a friend, you can send them a VIP trial card instead of a standard invite. If they activate it, they're bound to you under VIP Referral. This applies to both your regular monthly VIP trial cards and any card rewards you unlock from leveling up.
Who can accept a VIP trial card from me?
An eligible friend must be:
New OKX users who've never signed up with OKX before; or
Existing OKX users who:
Aren't currently an OKX VIP or Trial VIP; and
Have never held VIP or Trial VIP status, or whose most recent VIP or Trial VIP status ended at least 180 days ago.
Can a friend accept VIP trial cards from more than one VIP?
No. Once a friend is bound to a VIP through VIP Referral, they can't activate a VIP Trial Card from another VIP.
What happens to my VIP Referral rewards if I lose VIP status?
While you aren't an OKX VIP, you can't claim VIP Referral rewards. Your account will behave differently depending on your referral history:
No invitees: The Invite button changes to Unlock VIP, and the VIP Referral level page is hidden.
Invitees, but no level unlocked this quarter: Your reward history remains visible, but any unclaimed rewards stay locked until your VIP status is restored.
Level already unlocked this quarter: Your current referral level remains visible, but any pending rewards stay locked until you regain VIP status.
Once your VIP status is restored, you'll keep the VIP Referral level and qualified invitee count you've already earned for the current quarter.
Can I change or remove a VIP Referral binding?
No. Once a VIP Referral binding is established, it can't be changed, removed, or transferred to another account.
The only exceptions are if:
The invitee's account is closed; or
OKX determines the binding is associated with fraudulent activity or duplicate accounts.
What happens if OKX's risk control flags my invitee?
If OKX determines that your invitee is a risk account when they reach the 50-day qualifying requirement, they won't be counted as a qualified invitee for that quarter. Their status in your VIP Referral list will be displayed as invalid.
