OKX to Add Tri-Quarterly and Quad-Quarterly Expiry Dates to Coin-Margined Expiry Futures

To enrich the term structure of expiry futures and meet users' demand for longer-dated hedging, basis-locking, carry and calendar-spread trading, OKX will make the following change on the web, app and API at 16:00 on July 21, 2026 (Tuesday) (UTC+8) [exact time subject to the actual release]:
Add Tri-quarterly and Quad-quarterly expiry dates to Coin-Margined (CM) expiry futures.
This change applies to all listed expiry futures underlyings.
The following contracts will be newly generated
BTCUSD-25JUN27 (Tri-quarterly), BTCUSD-24SEP27 (Quad-quarterly)
ETHUSD-25JUN27 (Tri-quarterly), ETHUSD-24SEP27 (Quad-quarterly)
Coin-Margined Expiry Futures — Generation Rules
Supported expiry dates: 8 expiries — current-week, next-week, current-month, next-month, current-quarter, next-quarter, Tri-quarterly, Quad-quarterly.
Expiry time: Weekly contracts expire every Friday at 16:00 (UTC+8); monthly contracts expire on the last Friday of the month at 16:00 (UTC+8); quarterly contracts expire on the last Friday of March / June / September / December at 16:00 (UTC+8).
Listing time: New expiry futures are listed every Friday at 16:00 (UTC+8). Only the next-week, next-month and the farthest quarterly contract are newly listed.When the expiry date of a newly generated contract differs from that of existing contracts:
Next-week contract: listed every Friday.
Next-quarter contract: listed on the third-to-last Friday of the quarter month (March, June, September, December).
Tri-quarterly contract: listed on the second-to-last Friday of the quarter month (March, June, September, December).
Quad-quarterly contract: listed on the last Friday of the quarter month (March, June, September, December).
When the expiry date of a newly generated contract would coincide with that of an existing contract:
No new contract will be listed. For example, if the upcoming next-week contract would have the same expiry date as the current-quarter contract, the next-week contract will not be generated.
